The Brazilian body tasked with reviewing the deal between Microsoft and Activison Blizzard has sent inquiries to the industry’s developers and publishers to gather information on whether the deal could negatively impact the industry.
There is also a statement from Sony that the situation could have negative consequences, as Call of Duty fans will choose the Xbox when buying the next consoles.
Microsoft responded to the allegations with a document highlighting that Sony and Nintendo also have exclusives:
“Sony and Nintendo have their own strong and diverse offerings. For example, IDC determined that key Sony exclusive games in 2018 include God of War and Marvel’s Spider Man, in addition to other notable titles such as The Last of Us and Uncharted. These projects reflect Sony’s integration as well as its broader IP acquisition strategy, making “third-party” games exclusive to its console.”
