Is FIFA 23 Coming to Nintendo Switch?

FIFA 23, which football fans have been looking forward to, was introduced. Developed with a brand new technology, the game will be released on both new and old generation consoles as well as PC. So, is it on Nintendo Switch among the supported platforms?

Although FIFA games have been released on Nintendo Switch for years, the versions that have been released in the last few years have been published under the title ‘Legacy Edition’ . The term is used for games that were released on an older platform and received almost no upgrades over their predecessors. Considering that today’s games are balanced between current and old generation consoles, a question comes to mind: Will FIFA 23 come to Nintendo Switch?

As of now, we know the FIFA 23 release date , the platforms it supports and the system requirements . EA didn’t mention the Switch in the first promotional trailer it released for the game. This means that the game will likely get a Legacy Edition version once again. The version will feature up-to-date club rosters but lack the innovative gameplay features found in its counterparts.

What Will FIFA 23 Nintendo Switch Version Be Like?

FIFA 23 Nintendo Switch version will look more like FIFA 22 than a new game . Switch, a relatively old console generation, does not have the technical improvements that PS5 and Xbox Series X /S have. Based on this, we expect developers, including EA, to at some point stop making an old-gen version of every game and instead choose to focus solely on the current generation.

So, is that year for EA this year? The American company is still making a Madden 23 release for older generation consoles. Although some studios have stopped making older generation versions of games, EA continues to pursue this effort. But the question(s) is: will another Legacy Edition be developed for the new FIFA game?

Featuring cross-play features, FIFA 23 will be released on September 30 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC and Stadia. PC versions, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will be compatible with each other, while Xbox One players will be able to match with PlayStation 4 users.
