Half-Life 2 fans are expanding the unforgettable place. New mod demo available

Half-Life 2: We Don’t Go to Ravenholm mod, one of the most anticipated fan projects for HL2: Episode Two, has been demoed

  1. You can download the demo from the project page .
  2. Demo requires Half-Life 2: Episode Two.
  3. After downloading it, extract it to “steam/steamapps/sourcemods” and restart Steam. Half-Life 2: We Don’t Go to Ravenholm should appear in the game library on the client.
  4. The demo contains the first chapter of the mod’s campaign.

As the name suggests, the mod takes place in Ravenholm. This location is one of the best in Half-Life 2, but according to many, the quest here was too short. Therefore, the authors of the modification decided to create a large-scale multi-hour adventure in this location. It’s worth noting that this is an alternate history separate from the events of HL2.

Other Notable Fresh Half-Life 2 Mods

Half-Life 2 is almost 18 years old, and HL2: Episode Two is about to celebrate its 15th anniversary. Regardless, both games still regularly receive noteworthy mods. This is due, of course, to the fact that Valve has not yet released a new major part of the series (HL: Alyx is developed exclusively for VR, which greatly limits the popularity of the game among modders).

Of the recently released projects worthy of recommendation:

  1. The Apocalypse is a total conversion mod in a survival horror atmosphere that offers a new story campaign. In the project, we have to survive aboard a spaceship whose crew has turned into bloodthirsty monsters.
  2. Snowdrop Escape – The action takes place in a snowy city, a mod in which we play as a mercenary seeking to establish a truce between humanity and the Alliance empire.
  3. The Antarctic Sciences 2022 – An updated version of the classic modification, which takes place at the Antarctic research station.

Of the upcoming mods besides Half-Life 2: We Don’t Go to Ravenholm, fans can look forward to the release of the big Swelter project, which is expected to release next year. It will take us to Asia shortly before the Alliance forces arrive.
