Games Done Quick Event Delayed
Speedrunning may be a niche market for gamers who want to drive themselves in the quickest time to complete the game, but even those who don’t actually speedrun games may find themselves having fun watching others show their skills. As a result, numerous events arise in which players and online celebrities have completed games in record time all while supporting charities. For example, there’s an event known as Games Done Fast and those who are familiar with the event may have been waiting for the Done Fast Summer Games to be held this June.
Unfortunately, it looks like those who are either interested in watching or attending the event will have to wait a little longer. The event was initially scheduled for June, then moved back to August 16, 2020. All this is due to the current health pandemic that is happening right now, where participants who wish to participate are advised to resubmit their info, which ensures that it must be saved before April 26, 2020.
Games Done Quick is a charity speedrunning expo for those who are not familiar with the experience. Spectators will sit in and watch other games complete quickly with celebrities offering some advice about how to get through parts of the game a little faster. Meanwhile, donations that are normally read live may be submitted while the funds are then catered to other charities featured.
Although the event is still expected to take place in Bloomington, MN, there seems to be a possibility that the health pandemic will subside enough to merit the opportunity to operate as anticipated. Of course that may very well alter it all depends on the COVID-19 spread’s current status. With that said, you may want to keep tabs on the official Games Finished Fast website, to know at any given time what the current status is.
