Blizzard will remove loot boxes from Overwatch on August 30

On August 30, Blizzard will remove loot boxes from Overwatch. This will happen after the Anniversary Remix Part 3 event, during which players can purchase anniversary containers with skins, sprays, and other cosmetic items.

Starting October 4, the day Overwatch 2 releases, all accumulated loot boxes will be opened automatically. From now on, the only way to purchase items will be the Battle Pass.

After the release of Overwatch 2, the first part will be completely replaced by a sequel. The shooter will be available to play on PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. On the day of release, players will have access to three new heroes, six maps and new modes. PvE mode will be released in 2023.
